Susan A. Carpenter, CCP, CEBS is the owner of MFP Employee Benefits & HR Services, LLC. She is a nationally recognized expert in the health and welfare industry. She has authored articles on Healthcare Reform, insurance plan design and funding. Susan is a frequent speaker on health insurance topics including the impact of health care reform, consumer driven healthcare plans and health saving accounts. Her firm consults with organizations in a variety of industries.
Susan works with clients who need to enroll through the Healthcare Marketplace. She also assists individuals with understanding their Medicare options and helps them to navigate enrollment.
Prior to starting MFP Employee Benefits & HR Services, LLC, Susan was a consultant with Towers Perrin, an international human resource consulting firm. Among the clients she has served are Anheuser-Busch Companies, Inc.; BJC Health System; Guarantee Life Insurance Company; Lands’ End; Pacific Bell; and Union Pacific Railroad and Universal Underwriters Group. Other work experience includes directing the compensation and benefits functions for a nationwide health care provider and various other human resources positions. Susan is a Certified Employee Benefit Specialist and a Certified Compensation Professional.
Susan’s passion is the Girl Scouts. She is a life-long Scout and Troop Leader. She has been on the Board of Directors twice and served on the nominating committee of the Board and the Technology Task Force. Along with camping and encouraging girls’ involvement in service projects, she trailblazed her troop’s trek to Our Chalet, the International Girl Guide House in Switzerland. She is a recipient of the Gold Award and the Thanks Badge, a national award for leadership.
Susan is immersed in her community through her church and spearheaded such projects as a youth event at the Heifer Ranch, volunteer project at a local food bank and the annual pumpkin fundraiser. She is active in the St. Louis YMCA and serves as the Finance committee chair.
Susan is a current member and Past President of Altrusa International of St. Louis, a professional women’s service organization. Susan has served on the United Way Management Assistance Center, personnel committee for Focus St. Louis, and Board member of the DePaul Health Center Foundation.
Susan has been named a Distinguished Business Owner by the National Association of Women Business Owners, St. Louis Chapter and is a recipient of the Top Women Business Owners Award.
Susan received a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Washington University in St. Louis and completed graduate work at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and at Washington University in St. Louis.
